Girls Develop Leadership Skills and Discover their Power
The girls who experience the Unleashed program learn to develop their personal power by gaining the social and emotional skills needed to become effective leaders. They develop core skills and tools to engage in project planning and management, such as critical thinking, problem solving, and teamwork, while learning to identify and leverage their personal strengths.
Girls Improve Their Self-esteem
Girls develop confidence and learn how to channel their passion into something positive. They develop the courage to defend their beliefs and to advocate for themselves and others.
Girls Learn the Value of Working in Teams
By working with one another on shared goals, girls learn to come together for a common purpose—despite diversity of thought, ethnicity, socio-economic status, or religion—and to respect, listen to, and engage with one another.
Girls Experience “Making a Difference”
Girls see that they are capable of effecting change in the world, which empowers them to address both larger and smaller social issues they face in their own lives. They learn advocacy skills that are adaptable to daily use in their families, schools, and communities.
Dogs are Saved and Animal Welfare Issues are More Visible
Dogs bound for euthanization are placed with families who would not otherwise have adopted a dog from a shelter. The animal welfare community gains public visibility, expanded resources, more volunteers, a growth in available adoption homes, and a platform for education about animal issues.
